Manchester City Clerk’s Office to offer late Tuesday hours before state primary

Manchester’s City Clerk’s Office will provide Tuesday evening voter-registration and absentee-ballot services from Aug. 4 through Sept. 1 ahead of the Sept. 8 state primary.

Manchester’s City Clerk’s Office will offer extended Tuesday evening hours for voter registration and absentee-ballot services ahead of New Hampshire’s Sept. 8 state primary.

The additional hours will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays from Aug. 4 through Sept. 1, according to the City of Manchester.

Five Tuesday evening sessions

The schedule covers five Tuesdays, beginning Aug. 4 and ending Sept. 1. The final evening session is scheduled one week before the state primary on Sept. 8.

The city’s announcement identifies the expanded hours as a pre-primary service schedule at the City Clerk’s Office. It says the evening availability is for voter-registration and absentee-ballot services.

Services tied to the primary timeline

The extended schedule is tied specifically to the Sept. 8 state primary. The added three-hour window is limited to Tuesday evenings during the Aug. 4 through Sept. 1 period described in the city announcement.

The announcement does not provide an estimate of how many people are expected to use the additional hours. It also does not provide further details in the approved source packet about voter or absentee-ballot eligibility requirements.

Manchester’s announcement gives voters seeking those City Clerk services five scheduled evening opportunities before the state primary.
