Three Arkansas Air National Guard airmen selected for August deployment to Guatemala
Three Arkansas Air National Guard Security Forces airmen have been selected to deploy to Guatemala in August 2026, continuing a formal military partnership between Arkansas and the Central American country, the National Guard announced July 14.
The announcement was issued from Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Arkansas. It identifies the mission as part of the National Guard Bureau’s State Partnership Program, which has paired Arkansas and Guatemala since 2002.
The three airmen were selected in part because of their Spanish-language fluency, according to the National Guard. The release did not name them.
A mission under an existing partnership
The scheduled deployment is an activity within the existing Arkansas-Guatemala State Partnership Program, not the creation of a new bilateral agreement. The program provides the framework for military-to-military engagement between the Arkansas National Guard and Guatemala.

The July 14 announcement nevertheless marks the latest known step in a relationship established in 2002.
