Honolulu voters face Aug. 8 primary for four City Council seats

Honolulu voters are scheduled to decide four City Council contests in Hawaii’s nonpartisan primary election on Aug. 8, 2026, under an election proclamation issued by the state’s chief election officer and county election officials.

Next scheduled council activity

The scheduled meeting is a near-term item on the council’s official calendar; it is separate from the election process. The primary itself will determine whether any of the four council contests meet the stated threshold for a possible Nov. 3 second election.
