Bridgeport releases early-voting and polling schedule for Aug. 11 primary
Bridgeport has released the official schedule for the Aug. 11, 2026 Democratic and Republican primaries, including seven days of early voting beginning Aug. 3 at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center.
The City of Bridgeport Town Clerk’s notice identifies the primary as covering state and district offices. The available source material does not identify every contested office or candidate on the ballot.
For Bridgeport voters, the immediate opportunities to cast a ballot are the early-voting period from Aug. 3 through Aug. 9 and Primary Day on Aug. 11.
Early voting at 999 Broad St.
Early voting will take place at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center, 999 Broad St., for all seven days of the scheduled period.
The site will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 3, Aug. 5, Aug. 7 and Aug. 9. Hours will be extended to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 4 and Aug. 6.
On Saturday, Aug. 8, early voting hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The schedule gives voters a single listed early-voting location before the Tuesday primary. It also provides two days with 12 hours of voting, compared with eight-hour windows on the other five early-voting days.
Primary Day polling
Primary Day is Tuesday, Aug. 11. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Town Clerk’s official notice lists Bridgeport polling districts and locations for Election Day. Locations named in the notice include JFK Campus, 700 Palisade Ave., and Dunbar School, 445 Union Ave.
The notice excerpt in the approved source material does not display the complete district-by-district polling-place list. Voters seeking their assigned Election Day location should use the city’s election information.
Deadlines already listed
Bridgeport’s Registrar of Voters election page lists July 21 as the date absentee ballots became available. It lists July 24 as the registration and party-enrollment cutoff, subject to statutory exceptions.
With those listed dates passed, the next scheduled voting period is early voting from Aug. 3 through Aug. 9, followed by polls opening on Aug. 11. The city’s published schedule sets out the dates, hours and locations voters need for the primary, but does not establish which candidates or all contested offices will appear on a voter’s ballot.
