Bridgeport opens early voting and same-day registration ahead of Aug. 11 primary

Bridgeport’s Registrar of Voters has opened early voting and same-day registration ahead of the city’s Aug. 11, 2026 primary, providing four scheduled dates for those services before Election Day.

Early voting and same-day registration are available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 3, Aug. 5, Aug. 7 and Aug. 9. The city’s Registrar of Voters office has published the schedule as part of its primary-election information.

The Aug. 11 primary is Bridgeport’s next listed election. The current activity is an election-administration step before that vote, not an election result, a completed tally or a change to the primary date.

Four scheduled opportunities before Election Day

The four listed service dates fall on Monday, Aug. 3; Wednesday, Aug. 5; Friday, Aug. 7; and Sunday, Aug. 9. Each has the same posted hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Same-day registration is included with early voting on each of those dates in the city’s published schedule. The early-voting and same-day-registration page also identifies a Bridgeport location for the service.

Voters planning to participate before Election Day have a defined schedule rather than a single pre-election voting date. After the Aug. 9 scheduled session, the next listed election date is the Tuesday, Aug. 11 primary.

Earlier deadlines and absentee-ballot timing

The Registrar of Voters lists July 21, 2026, as the date absentee ballots became available for the primary. That availability preceded the August early-voting and same-day-registration dates.

The city also lists July 24, 2026, as the registration and party-enrollment cutoff, subject to applicable in-person exceptions. That cutoff is separate from the same-day-registration service published for the four August dates.

The distinction is important in the city’s posted election calendar: absentee-ballot availability began in July; the registration and party-enrollment cutoff was also in July; and early voting with same-day registration is scheduled on specific dates in August. Election Day remains Aug. 11.

The approved city information does not identify the specific primary contests or candidates. It also does not report a vote count, election outcome, candidate filing, court ruling or dispute connected to the Aug. 3 opening of early voting.
