Sedgwick County schedules August breastfeeding and birth-planning classes
The Sedgwick County Health Department has posted three no-cost maternal-health classes for August 2026: virtual interactive breastfeeding sessions in English and Spanish, followed by a class on creating a birth plan.
The classes are part of the department’s continuing education offerings for new and expectant parents. The department’s events page also lists breastfeeding and birth-plan sessions in September and October.
August schedule
The English-language interactive breastfeeding class is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 12, from noon to 1 p.m. The class will be held virtually.
A Spanish-language interactive breastfeeding class is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19, also from noon to 1 p.m. That session will be held virtually as well.
The Creating a Birth Plan class is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The county’s listing does not provide additional attendance-format details for that class.
All three August classes are listed as no-cost. The health department requires registration for the Aug. 26 birth-plan class.
