Two held after South Burlington search in Burlington drug-trafficking investigation
Burlington police said they took two Connecticut men into custody after executing a search warrant at a South Burlington residence July 19 as part of an investigation into alleged drug trafficking in Burlington.
The warrant was executed at approximately 6:30 a.m. at 1662 Williston Road, police said. The department described the operation as a high-risk search warrant and said both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Police said the search yielded crack cocaine, fentanyl, xylazine and U.S. currency. The release did not state the quantities of the substances, the amount of cash or any estimated value of the items seized.
Charges and scheduled court date
Police identified one person arrested as Carllington Green, 23, of Bloomfield, Connecticut. Green was charged with sale and trafficking of fentanyl, possession of cocaine, and selling xylazine, police said.
The other person was identified only as an 18-year-old male from Bloomfield. Police said he was charged with fentanyl trafficking, cocaine possession, giving false information, and possession of controlled substances.
Both men were held on $50,000 bail and were scheduled to appear in court July 20, according to police. The available source record does not report the result of those scheduled appearances.
The charges are allegations. The police release does not report a court finding or conviction for either suspect.
Search followed monthlong investigation
Police said the investigation lasted about one month and concerned alleged drug sales in downtown Burlington. The alleged sales activity cited by police was in Burlington, while the search warrant and reported evidence seizure occurred at the South Burlington address.
The Burlington Police Department led the case with assistance from the South Burlington Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to the release.
The investigation remained ongoing as of the July 19 police announcement. Police did not identify additional suspects, announce further charges or searches, or say whether more enforcement action was planned.
The case connects a South Burlington search location with an investigation into alleged downtown Burlington drug sales. Beyond the reported arrests, charges and seized items, the release did not provide further details about the alleged sales or how long either suspect had been in the area.
