San Diego election materials enter public-examination period ahead of November general election

A separate candidate-filing period is underway through the San Diego County Registrar of Voters. For offices administered by the registrar, filing for the Nov. 3 general election began July 13 and is scheduled to close Aug. 7.

That deadline falls on the same day as the end of the City Clerk’s public-examination period. The overlap places the review of municipal election materials and the close of filing for county-administered offices on a shared Aug. 7 deadline.

The county registrar’s filing guidance applies to offices it administers. The available county filing information does not establish that the same procedures govern every city office, so the county deadline should not be read as a universal filing rule for all San Diego municipal offices.
